Curriculum Vitae of Audrey Gallez, (violin)

Audrey Gallez had her first contact with music through piano lessons in Kigali (Rwanda). Back in Belgium in 1990, she began studying the violin with Professor Ching Huang and continued her studies piano. At the age of 12, she started to compose under the supervision of the composer Victor Kissin.

From 1999 until 2004, she continued her violin studies at the ‘Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel’ and graduated with ‘Great Distinction’ in the class of Yuzuko Horigome and received the price ‘Mathilde Horlait Dapsens’ for the quality of her studies. In 2004-2005, she became assistant in the class of Y. Horigome. In 2005, she won the Third Prize at the ‘4th International Marschner Competition’ (Germany). Afterwards, in 2006, she became member of the ‘Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège’ (OPRL) and, in 2007, she became also assistant in the chamber music class of F. Deppe (Ictus Ensemble) at the ‘Conservatoire Royal de Musique de Liège’.

Besides the trio, Audrey Gallez is member of the ‘Ardente Quartet’, a quartet founded with the cellist of the trio and two members of the OPRL (www.quatuorardente.com).
